Hi there. I'm currently 27 and live in a suburb of Los Angeles with my husband and two cats. Although I am California native, I've always been enamored by faraway lands and try to visit as often as possible. Sometimes I include my travel photos here. I'm a Designer and Creative in a variety of mediums. My recent focus has been on print work & product design, among many others which I will share here! I also recently moved into my first place as an owner, so I look forward to sharing my efforts in making it feel cozy.
I would characterize my personal interests as being minimal; I remain loyal to the things that I enjoy. I love films like the Innocents, Badlands, Un Homme et Une Femme, Lolita and Ingmar Bergman's work. My favorite sounds are by Francis Lai, Phoenix, George Harrison and generally nostalgic tunes. Some other subjects I like are: Ornithology, Film & Art History, Le Corbusier, Stanley Kubrick and Hermann Hesse,. Thanks for visiting x
Frequently Asked Questions:
What kind of camera do you use?
I use several different cameras, sometimes all in the same post depending on the subject. For film I use a Leica Minilux with vivid color film, during regular outings I use a Canon EOS 550D, and sometimes I just use my iPhone. I don't believe you have to have the most expensive camera, but it helps to know framing and editing.
How do you edit your photos?
I play around with many things to achieve the color that I'd like to have. I use photoshop (curves, photo tints) and also random iPhone apps at times. I'd recommend just playing around not worrying about "rules".
How long have you been blogging?
I first started blogging in 2004 on livejournal, when I was 16. Those were lovely days, where I met many talented folks, but I stopped in 2009 to take a break. I started this space essentially in 2011, but feel like I've been around for longer!
Have you always lived in Los Angeles?
Yes! I was born here thanks to my parents coming over from Mexico during the 1980s. I continue to live here with my husband Donald and our two cats, since we've made the perfect home. If you'd like suggestions on what to see and do, check out my Los Angeles guide.
