Somehow summer days have a habit of passing by quicker than ordinary rest-of-the-year days. It's certainly true in my case, as I can't believe Paris was one month ago. Earlier this summer I decided to visit my sister who lives in England; however I couldn't pass the opportunity to see Thom Yorke perform at Le Zénith, so we planned a weekend getaway to Paris. On the first day of my visit, I lounged at the Parc des Buttes Chaumont for hours like a true local. I was incredibly jet-lagged so the only thing that I wanted to experience was a seine boat ride at night...

It was everything that I could have asked for and more! The seine was lined with picnics,
and boisterous locals who waved at passing boats. The sun started setting at 11pm which
meant that all of the landmarks were covered in a pink glow. A night to remember always.

The following morning I woke up with a full blown cold, which meant that my hopes of being an optimist in Paris were going to be challenged- bah! Nevertheless, we went on to visit some super dreamy spots that I'll be sharing throughout the week! x

Have any of you ever taken a seine boat ride?

  1. Oh my gosh, these pictures are so gorgeous! I'd love to visit Paris in the summer so that there's more daylight to enjoy everything and for it to be warm enough to picnic by the Seine. Really looking forward to seeing what else you got up to!

    1. Thank you Jane! I've only visited in the summer so I suppose I've been spoiled with the daylight. However, the truth is that I always fell asleep early anyway with all the sightseeing! I am truly a grandmother inside haha x

  3. Goodness, a boat ride on a summer evening in Paris looks like such a great idea. I've never taken a boat ride on the Seine, but then again... I usually visit in Spring, early Summer or autumn and it can be pretty darn cold by then. But I'll definitely do sometime. I hope the gig was amazing.

    1. The gig was amazing, but I had a fever at the time so I was struggling a bit! It was slightly chilly once the sun came down, but I brought a coat :D I was the only one with a coat in Paris this summer haha

    2. Hi Lindsey! I use photoshop mainly and sometimes I use an iphone app called pictureshow - I just play around :) And it was certainly nice to visit her in England but it is so expensive! That's the only time that I'll probably go over there. Thanks for the kind compliments! x

    1. Thanks Jessica! Unfortunately I was sick on my entire trip - minus the boat ride, so it was a tough time! I wanted to sleep in all day haha. The night time photos were so tough to take but I took a million photos :o
