pink dresses

Somehow I've been unknowingly collecting pink and coral dresses this summer. It lightens my otherwise dark wardrobe that's geared toward winter, and solves my dilemma on what to wear during hot months. I bought the most special dress of the collection at the beginning of May, and it finally arrived in the post last week! It's called "the biscuit dress" and it was designed by Caitlin Shearer.

Ahh, I can't decide whether to wear it or eat it!

It fits in perfectly with my other summer finds, one of which is a pink lace dress with beaded detail all-over, that I found at my favorite vintage store. Soon I'm going to miss rummaging through vintage racks with my sister, who is moving to England in a few days. We've been doing a lot together in these last weeks (little tokyo karaoke, miniature golf, overall silliness) which I'll share in the near the future!

Another pink coral dress that's silky. I'm calling it my "marie antoinette dress" since it's bordering on the absurdly ornate.

I wore it when I played miniature golf recently, and then realized as I took this photo, that I left my house wearing with two different types of shoes! We all laughed at my expense - there's a first time for everything I guess! Perhaps this will be the new style in years to come x

  6. HAHAH different shoes XD both dresses are SO lovely, I've been coveting these caitlin shearer dresses too, they are so cute! I'm really sad I saw this random poorly-made t-shirt with what was surely one of her prints (probably made without her permission) :((

    1. Aw that's too bad. I hate when people steal "intellectual property" since it takes a special person to think of those things! The dress is really great quality, and I can't believe it's only her first time making dresses. Sheesh, she is talented!

    1. I suppose someone who likes 50s dresses might end up with it :D I love that shape and wish more stores would take it on! My sister is moving to a small village called Fawsley in Daventry. Her boyfriend lives there and she's moving to live with him for several years. Naturally my mother and I are not too excited about it, but understand that everyone has to try their own thing! Luckily my boyfriend moved to me so I never had to think about that kind of thing! x

  12. Aw I can't believe your sister is moving to England! It seems like you guys are really close, so that must be hard. And I love that dress by Caitlin Shearer, the print is so cute and it's such a classic silhouette. Ahah, those shoes look pretty similar so I can understand why you wore them at once! I've actually worn flats on the wrong feet before after a long night of studying, so you're not alone ;)

    1. Haha wow! That would feel weird on my feet, but then again, after a night of studying I would probably not notice too. We are very close and have never lived apart (in different cities) before. My family is incredibly small so it's going to be a new adventure for sure. Thankfully I have Donald and my two kitties to keep me busy :)
