the drawn line

pink lemonade

Things have been subdued in my home, with Donald and I both hurrying to meet class deadlines and continually working on our own projects. It's at this time that the thirst for a summer break feels insatiable and makes me want to drink pink lemonade. No matter how many years pass, I will always prefer a sloth-existence to a fast-paced one. Nevertheless, I feel slightly lucky to be able to work on artistic endeavors instead of slaving away at work, as I did for several years before. After finally dusting off my drawing desk, I came upon an old collection of drawings that I completed. Some of them could have already been seen here, but it's charming to see them at this bare state.

glitter shoes

Somehow, there is always time for a new acquisition. I'm usually very selective when it comes to certain accessories or garments (okay, I'm probably selective about most things) so it was wonderful to find sandals that I actually like. It also seems that I can never get enough of pink hues and glitter tones. If only summer could arrive faster...

  1. Your drawings are beautiful.

I too, love a good sloth. We have a public holiday, today, in Australia, and I have slept in late, had a leisurely brunch, then a nap...

I am totally mental for glitter shoes atm and seem to be amassing them at a rapid rate.

  2. Haha, I see the drawing of me when I was a weensy one. I need one of those on my wall one day.

Glitter never hurts! I painted my nails yesterday with golden nail polish and surprisingly it doesn't look tacky. Instead I feel quite lux.

Good luck with the schoolwork. Next thing you know it will be summer! :)

  7. Darling drawings! I'm especially fond of the fox and the girl with her knee to her head (cute dress, too).
I know what you mean about being selective of things- I am selective of shoes too. In my mind I have the 'picture' of the perfect shoe and whenever I go searching for it... One day perhaps when I least expect it!

    1. Haha that last line made me laugh. So true! I haven't drawn in ages so that's probably why it was a secret. I used to love drawing for fun, but over time it felt very tedious. I would love to continue doing paintings though :) Thanks for the well wishes, I need the luck! x

  15. Your drawings look like something out of Frankie magazine! They would look amazing put up on the wall in vintage frames :)

I completely understand how you feel about all of the work you've got to do at the moment, things are the same at my house where my partner and I are surrounded by a mountain of university work!

  17. Ahh, those sandals are wonderful. And I like the flowers in your pictures. The drawings you made are so nice. I wish to put more time in drawing myself, but I'm not really gifted when it comes to that skill :')

    1. I'm not very gifted either to be honest, whenever I'd had illustration courses I am quite hopeless at all the technical aspects of drawing. That's probably one reason why I stopped drawing years ago, but perhaps I'll get the bug again :)
