This is the first Monday in which I am not required to perform boring tasks. It feels like a triumph! Instead, I made french toast with powdered sugar and blackberries. My favorite way to start the day is with a heaping pile of blackberries and peppermint tea. I can finally enjoy leisurely mornings and evenings without feeling confined to a cyclical schedule (until school beings!)

The nature of a weekly occupation is similar to a neverending carousel ride. It can feel grand, but your heart has to be in it otherwise the effort is futile. I bought this lovely paper carousel at the Villa Ephrussi and put it together myself. I love all of the joyful expressions and the garments which recall a long-lost time. The details are so charming and I consider it to be one of my favorite possessions.

I'm looking forward to the next ride x
